So considering that you require a home connection, a WiFi connection would be better suited, as you may need to use internet on your smartphones and tablets. Still Ethernet connections can come in handy. If you require high speeds for your PC you can install an Ethernet connection. This can also help you spread Internet to rooms and areas in your home in which WiFi access is not available. Running an Ethernet wire though such a room and connecting it to an Ethernet port on your WiFi modem will fix this issue. If you have gaming requirements, you will benefit more from

Ethernet connections. This will also be a good source if your requirements include sending big files through to other devices.

Many businesses and large corporations depend on Ethernet connection, given to its reliability and security factors. The consistent speeds also give it a plus factor. The mobility is generally not a big factor in work places, so WiFi modems are also installed for mobile devices and for visitors.
